Wade W. Massie

Wade Massie is an Officer in PennStuart's Abingdon, Virginia office and chairman of the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group.

He is one of the firm's leading trial lawyers, representing clients in complex business, environmental, and tort litigation. In addition to trials in both state and federal trial courts, Mr. Massie also represents companies before the administrative tribunals that enforce mining laws. His extensive appellate experience includes dozens of cases before the Virginia Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Mr. Massie has over 50 reported decisions in cases involving a broad range of matters, including products liability, FELA, mineral rights, strike misconduct, contracts, and employment.

Upon graduating with distinction from the University of Virginia, Mr. Massie attended the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond, where he was Recent Decisions Editor of the University of Richmond Law Review and a member of the McNeill Law Society. In recognition of his excellence in litigation, Mr. Massie has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is also a Fellow in the American Bar Foundation, and the Virginia Law Foundation. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Bar Association, and is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.
