Sean Murphy is an Associate in PennStuart's Richmond, Virginia office. Sean received his Juris Doctor from The George Mason University School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of The George Mason Civil RIghts Law Journal. He was an award winning advocate on the Moot Court Board and a member of the George Mason Inn of Court. Sean is a published author in the field of litigation analysis. He is licensed in state, federal and bankruptcy courts throughout Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Sean represents a broad range of clients, including businesses, individuals, and insurance carriers, before state, federal and appellate courts. Prior to joining PennStuart, he served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Commonwealth of Virginia from 2008-2011, representing the Commonwealth in numerous civil jury trials and several arguments in front of the Virginia Supreme Court. From 2002-2008, Sean was in private practice representing clients in hundreds of General District Court and Circuit Court trials throughout Virginia and the District of Columbia. Sean served as a United States Congressional Fellow from 2000-2001.
